I thank God for my mother. She worked hard as a single mother to raise her children and grandchildren. My mother is a retired RN when she wasn't working, we were at church.
My mother is strong, brave, courageous, and nurturing. That's where I get it from. When I was a little girl my mother would always help strangers. I remember one day ( back in the early ’70s) we were driving down Chicago Ave South in Minneapolis, MN. There was an inebriated (drunken) person lying in the street, my mother stopped the car and helped the person up, placing them in the backseat of our car and drove them to the detox center. My eyes marveled, that's just the type of person she is. I kept observing. She’d feed people, give away clothes, help people find resources to help them and advocate for them, and definitely pray for them.
She had her struggles in life but she never gave up. She lost my sister and brother to wrongful deaths but she kept going, she is endured with strength.
Many of my characteristics and attributes are from the fruit of her labor.
I love my mother and I thank her for the morals and values that she's instilled in my life.
Every day is Mother’s Day to me.
